ABOUT ME

I am 10 years old and I absolutely LOVE reading!!!! But I didn’t always….

 

When I was in kindergarten I was the only kid in my class who couldn’t read and I was not happy about that. I asked my mom to teach me how to read but I didn’t realize what that actually meant. It meant that I had to read three books a day and it didn’t matter how long it took, thankfully the books were tiny like tiny tiny, they were called “Bob Books” and they helped a lot. But, I hated them, I would get super frustrated and sometimes even cry…I was 5!!! I finally could read but only small books. I slowly started to read bigger books, like chapter books and more.

 

 

One day my aunt started to read the Harry Potter series to me and I was hooked! I soon started reading the series myself. My love for reading was born! Since then I have read over 100 books a year. I have scored over a thousand AR points for 3 years in a row (AR = Accelerated Reader.) I am also proud that I have inspired many kids in my school to set similar goals. I started writing this blog so I could inspire other kids to become readers and to share my love of reading!
